When Writing, The Difference Between “This” and “It”

Do you get confused between “this” and “it” when writing in English? This article will teach you how to quickly distinguish between the two when you’re writing.

1.  This

Use “this” when you’re introducing a topic or object for the first time, or when you want to emphasize it. “This” is often used to introduce a new topic or object into the conversation.

 2. It

Use “it” when you’ve already mentioned the topic or object and it’s clear what you’re referring to. “It” is a pronoun used to refer to something previously mentioned or easily identified.

For example:

Use “this” when you’re introducing the fragrance for the first time or want to emphasize it. “This” is often used to introduce a new topic or object into the conversation.

Use “it” when you’ve already mentioned the fragrance and it’s clear what you’re referring to. “It” is a pronoun used to refer to something previously mentioned or easily identified.

So, in this case, both are correct. You can choose based on the emphasis you want to give.
