Granny Smith, Green, and Sour: The Differences Between These Apple Varieties

At first glance, Granny Smith apples and green apples may seem similar, giving off a tart and sweet taste like a sour apple. But have you ever wondered if there are differences when you take a closer look at them? Today, we will introduce these three types

1. Granny Smith Apples

These are notably firm and crisp, with dense and juicy flesh. This results in higher acidity and a strong sourness. They are also popular as cooking apples used in pies and as perfume ingredients for their fresh scent.

2. Green Apples

This is a general term that can refer to any apple variety that is green in color, including the Granny Smith apple

3. Sour Apples

This term is often used to describe apples that have a sour taste. Other apple varieties could also be sour, depending on their acidity levels. For example, a Granny Smith apple, when eaten while still green, may have a sour taste.
